Scholarships are expected to begin with the 2027 program year, following the opening of applications in January 2027 and completion of eligibility review.

Under the federal framework, Scholarship Granting Organizations must distribute funds within the required disbursement window after contributions are received. Well Planned Education has established an annual disbursement cycle in which funds raised between July 1 and June 30 are scheduled for distribution the following July.

Exact timing for individual awards may vary based on state participation, application processing, and funding availability. Families who complete priority registration and submit timely applications will be best positioned for early consideration.
